Fertilizer stocks (see last week's post in Hiker's forum) were on fire today led by an over 8% gain in CF.  What a chart!

But if you think that is a beautiful chart take a gander at the chart of TRA

Normally after a huge run, you begin to see analyst and brokerage downgrades. But today there was an upgrade for CF and a higher price target for POT.

Here are two others biggies in this sector.

Buyer beware because we have had some huge runups the past week and YTD.  But the story of these stocks haven't taken over the airwaves or the trading forums yet so hopefully there are more gains ahead.  I now hold five of the big six in this sector.  Below is the sixth one which I don't hold because I simply wasn't aware of it until today.

I mentioned BG last week and it too has a beautiful chart.  It's not a fertilizer stock but a seed stock.

Just to show this year is the year of the farm take a look at another one of my favorites CNH, which  manufactures farm equipment.

Hiker, my weakness is taking profits because I really take to heart the adage about letting profits run. But if TNH is a preview of things to come had to sell some of my fertilizer stocks today.  TNH lost over $10 between late yesterday and early this morning.
