Another sentiment tool that Technical Watch has been playing with over the last 3 years is Rasmussen's daily Presidential Approval Index numbers with comparison with the S&P 500 cash index. One of the interesting things that this information provides is that Obama's approval ratings seem to spike higher when the market is in the process of making price tops (like now), and shows spike bottoms in concert with price pattern lows.

It's not a perfect relationship, but it does have a nice correlation.

Provided below is Obama's poll data since he took office and I've included the occasional significant news event that accompanied any extreme points in the data. I hope that this information provides additional insight to the reader on how the masses act and react to the ebb and flow of economic activity.
