Johnny,

Thanks for the update, looks like IT trouble brewing for the long side from this vantage point.  The Friday McClellan Market Report updated its dollar weighted version of the COT commercials indicator and Tom comes to that conclusion as well.  Sooner or later the topping indications of many sentiment tools observed over the past couple of weeks will matter.

Randy,

Thanks for that information. Using a different computer when making the charts, it was omitted that they were of futures and options. Here's a non-commercial, futures only chart that may be of interest. Highlighted are spikes up, then spikes down. Probably everyone on this board knows what spreading is, the definition is added for clarity purposes anyway.

regards,

Johnny

"Spreading - For the futures-only report, spreading measures the extent to which each non-commercial trader holds equal long and short futures positions. For the options-and-futures-combined report, spreading measures the extent to which each non-commercial trader holds equal combined-long and combined-short positions. For example, if a non-commercial trader in Eurodollar futures holds 2,000 long contracts and 1,500 short contracts, 500 contracts will appear in the "Long" category and 1,500 contracts will appear in the "Spreading" category. These figures do not include intermarket spreading, e.g., spreading Eurodollar futures against Treasury Note futures." Commodity Futures Trading Commission
